Short hair and chubby faces?

I am trying to decide whether to get my hair cut short. I really prefer it short but I think my face might be too chubby. I will show a photo of the hairstyle I am considering and a recent photo of me.

Your face shape reminds me of that girl off Dawson's Creek, the one who was in Brokeback Mountain...I always thought she looked really cute with short hair.

btw-I DON"T consider you to have a chubby face, you're adorable!
 
I can fully see you rock that hairstyle. You have a gorgeous face and beautiful features. The only thing I would be concerned about is the volume. Rihanna has a LOT of hair - those bangs are very heavy.

I have lots of volume Kama, I have to straighten my hair a lot to get it the way it is in the photo. You should see it after I wash and dry it :eek:
 
Ahh..I can't tell very well from the picture :) I think you should go for it, and post pictures on your return from the salon!

BTW: by volume I meant amount (thickness) of hair and not poofy-ness of hair.
 
Oh my gosh Maisie, you are gorgeous just the way you are!! Really, I wouldn't change the style you have now. I have no doubt you could pull off anything with your colouring and beautiful eyes though.
 
If you have a good stylist, s/he will tell you if you can pull it off. Not just face shape, but texture. The pic, the front of her hair is longer than the back. That could look really bad with the wrong type of hair...think skater do gone bad.

Me, I can't do short hair...my face is rounder than yours by far. I look like a bowling ball with hair. I don't think you'll have that problem.

I think you are right TG, a visit with my stylist would help me make up my mind.

I hadn't considered bald! Now that would save on shampoo! :bigsmile:
 
I have a mega round chubby face and i look MUCH better with short hair! It is currently a little past my shoulders and I feel 10 lbs heavier with it. I hate it! The day after the wedding it's going bye bye!
 
My hair is now nearly at my shoulders. I really thought I wanted long hair but all I do is put it up in a pony tail all day. And that gives me a headache. So short seems like the right way to go.

I don't think your hair would be full enough to pull that style. THere is just so much that products and good scissoring can do...
BUT, I think you could probably sport a different style, yet short...

You have a cute round face with a small head. I think this hairstyle will be very becoming on you. The swoop bang will cover some of your face though. R you cool with that?

Honestly Maisie you just look younger and younger every time we see a photo of you! You really could carry anything with your face, you are so pretty in a really feminine way. I love your current hairstyle and for me the Rhiannon one would be far too much work to keep looking like that. Go for it if you want it, it will look fabulous
 
I think you're cute/pretty and your face is not chubby. I like the hairstyle inspiration. I say go for it.
 
Maisie, you had a similar hairstyle to Rihanna's a few years ago and you looked flat out adorable! I wouldn't layer the back with very short layers. That style is too similar to Kate G.'s very chopped up style. Something a little more balanced all the way around. You'll look beautiful and it will be easier for you to manage with your busy life.
 
I got my past the shoulders length hair cut really short yesterday and I love it.
Like you I was just wearing a ponytail day after day.
I took a picture to my stylist and she modified the cut to suit my features
and hair type.
You are a beautiful young women and I think a version of this style will be very good for you.
Be sure to post an after picture.
P.S. Your face is not chubby
 
You really are a stunning woman! Your eyes and lips stand out, and I think they'd be played up by bangs. However, I don't think that that short style would be very flattering to your cheeks and jawline. That cut looks best with sculpted cheeks and jaws, on a petite frame (taller gals with really short hair look very disproportionate). I think more of a layered fringe that hits your collar would be very flattering on you. Something you can wear either sleek and polished, or fun and a little messy. Play with the color too...some high and low lights with a fringe cut looks killer!
 
Girl, take a good pic of yourself with your hair slicked back, go on taaz.com, upload it, and try on the hairstyle you're wanting. A lot of the online makeover tools don't line up with your face correctly, so it doesn't give you a very good idea of what the style would look like on you, but this site is great with aligning to your features. Plus, it's really fun. :wacko:
 
Cute face! I think this cut could work on you. but with much shorter and softer bangs. I think bangs generally tend to shorten a face (but if the bangs are lighter and angled then the effect may not be as shortening). I think this cut works well on Rihanna, because she has a long face and relatively large forehead 8) - She's gorgeous -though! But the heavy bangs really suit her type of face.

I think a pixie-ish cut with softer, more wispy bangs, would look really lovely on you!
 
The cut may be short but it still has long pieces in the front. I think it would look cute on you. You have a very cute face!

Now looking at this Maisie, I agree with Amethyste. I think a short style would look great on you, but if you are going for this exact look, it might be tougher. Not a secret that black hair and white hair are two entirely different animals. My daughter has hair from the white side of her family, and I cannot get over many days how slippery and fine it is. There's just no texture compared to asian hair.

Also, do you like to actually take the time to style your hair and use products? Because this do is going to take maintenance.
