What is your budget? :))

Hi Stubobby

Lovely to see a fellow weggie on PS!! :wavey:

I can suggest a few places but before I do can I tell you what I did? If it is of no interest, no problem. Just say.

I bought my diamonds from the USA from various Pricescope recommended vendors because

1. It was cheaper
2. I could get better quality - could not find the quality of cut I was looking for and if I did (think Hearts on Fire from Laings in the Argyle Arcade) the price was ridiculous by comparison.
3. The ease with which I could buy and upgrade made it a no brainer for me.

If you post your budget, I am sure that some of the experts (which I am not one!) can find you what you are looking for.

If you are completely opposed to buying from abroad I can tell you some of the places I did buy from or would consider buying from, albeit at a greater price.

Happy to help!

Ps I am currently based in Perth, Australia, so when you reply I might be a wee bit later in getting back to you, but I will!!!

Being from the UK myself I worked out I got the best 'bang for my buck' by buying online from the states, even with the imprt tax..
I bought from Good Old Gold and you simply wont find diamonds like that in bricks and mortar stores, so stay away from stores and always buy on the net is my advice

Hi Stubobby

Apologies for getting back to you so late!! Life rather took over my Pricescope time!

Any way, Blue Nile is definitely worth while checking out. You can run any potential diamonds through the HCA and decide that way.

I have bought a piece from DeJoria too. I was very happy with the customer service there. They really went out of their way to do what I wanted and at the time (about 4 years ago) they offered the best value for money. This was PRE Pricescope right enough. ;))
Again you can view the diamond certificates and run them through the HCA.

I have also bought on two occasions from Cool Diamonds. The purchases were very straight forward. However, due to a customer services issue with the second purchase, I would not recommend them. I bought a diamond tennis bracelet. I ordered the standard length, so I could return it if it was not to my liking. They agreed to reduce it in size for free if I did keep it.
I loved it and contacted them prior to shipping, for it to be reduced in size. I was informed (when I asked) that they would not return the diamond sections that they were going to remove, as that was their payment for the alteration!! :angryfire:

If I wanted them back the alteration would cost me in excess of £100 (can't remember the exact figure).

Needless to say I told them where they could stick their "free" alteration. I still have the bracelet (and the spare sections  )and still adore it but feel I cannot recommend them for this reason.

I hope you are able to find the diamond and ring of your dreams!!

Good luck and you know you can always ask the experts here if you need any advice!
