Shopping in Manahattan for 2.25-2.5 RBC H/I VS1/VS2 $30-$32k

hi all!

so far my search has been limited to online stores. i feel like i've learned enough from PS and online stores to take a chance at a B&M. i think i need to physically see some diamonds to be able to compare them.

with that, are there any stores in the NYC Diamond District you guys would recommend? i've looked up local jewelers under PS resources, but there literally has to be thousands listed.

i've heard good things about GOG, but a search of their site doesn't show much in terms of what i'm looking for. i've also seen a little about ERD and Leon Mege.

any suggestions? or are these the three leading stores in the area?

i'm looking for a 2.25-2.5 (emphasis on the 2.5) RBC H/I VS1/VS2 $30-$32k.

is a good, quality, firey stone doable at that budget?

At the top of the page, put in your size, color and clarity range. Your size range is .25 carats; prices vary according to size. You could get something closer to the low end of your range within your budget or something closer to the high end of your size range if you can throw another 2k to the project. As far as GOG or the other online vendors, they can call in other stones for you other than those listed on their website. I'd touch base with a couple of them and see what they come up with.

Here are a list of vendors in Manhattan that are all in the same vicinity. These vendors are all around 47th and 5th ave. If you're going up 5th ave, and make a left onto 47th, you will be in the vicinity of ID Jewelry, Leon Mege, and Steven Kirsch of Timeless Luxury.

Sounds like you've got your head on straight.

I think I'd want to check out Eternity, where you can first consider their selections from having done a broad search here:

They show to be at 48 W 48th St. I'm sure you should call first.

Not sure if it's okay to recommend a non-Pricescope vendor, but my stone came from Diamond Ideals, also in the Diamond District and they were absolutely awesome.

Ordinarily it's fine, and maybe it's fine under PS 2. I think in the days of PS 1 and Leonid, mention of that particular vendor will have shut the thread down. The problem presented was shilling.
