Gorgeous! You made an excellent choice. I've always been of the opinion that it makes more sense to put the money in the diamond rather than side stones or settings, if budget is a concern. It's relatively easy to buy a new, fancier setting with or without side stones later on. This also allows your partner to have choice and input. You might want to consider telling your fiancée that you wanted to get her the best diamond possible with your budget and then let her know that you are open to having her change the setting in the future because you want her to be as happy as possible with her ring. Relationships are always a work in progress, so there's no reason why a symbol of your love can't be as well.

I think @AGBF rings might be of interest to you. She has some super snazzy wraps/wedding bands that make her rings look like they have more ornate settings when she wants that look and clean and classic when she doesn't.
