Hi, does Anyone know of a good reliable site that i can purchase that will ship overseas, specifically australia?? Almost all the links I have followed from here are US only. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome arjunajane! I am in Australia myself and just about the purchase from MDX in Melbourne (Melbourne Diamond Exchange). If you still have your heart set on something overseas, I know for sure that Whiteflash ship either loose stones or completed rings here. I had been dealing with Lesley and she is fantastic, I would have purchased an ACA, but they didn''t have exactly what I wanted at the moment. Bear in mind, you will need to pay 10% import taxes, shipping costs and insurance.

I am not sure what you are looking for, but I am about to buy an AGS Ideal H&A, and they are gorgeous. Check out

I know that whiteflash has shipped to the UK and Ireland so they''d probably ship to Australia also. Steel and Maisie have bought items from Whiteflash.

I''m actually looking for a dress ring, as I already have an engagement ring, which I Love, however i wish i knew what i do now when we purchased that one. I''ve been looking at whiteflash and may buy from there, however find their settings a bit out of my price range..also James Allen seems to have many quality stones. Does anyone have any experience with them?
Honey22, I did look at the diamond exchange originally, but on ur advice i think i''ll have a closer look. and thankyou for your advice on tax etc-that was gonna be my next question to post!

More than happy to help. I guess I am a little biased because I have decided to get my stone there. Although I must say, I am incredibly picky about my setting being JUST PERFECT! Although their stock settings were lovely, I wanted something a little thinner and the prongs a bit more dainty. The SA has now organised for me to liase directly with their jeweller to design my setting. She said his custom work was wonderful and of the utmost quality. I know it''s just a simple solitare, but I want it to be just right. So, that said, if you are looking for beautiful stones, then that''s the place to go, but they don''t really have many settings, but as I have done, you can go direct to the jeweller actually making it so that''s piece of mind for me.

Wow! you remind me of myself, I am Very particular in everything to do with my ring, even though its just a gift i''m buying for myself! I would love to see a photo of yours once its finished..I guess thats the downfall of purchasing internationally off the net, is I''m finding it hard to liaise directly with someone when i need further info. I think I will have to follow the advice i have found on this forum, to send it to an independent evaluater in the states before having it purchased and shipped here-apparently Whiteflash accomodates for this, but it sounds like an expensive process! Anyway, seeing as I have someone else to ask - I can''t decide whether to get a Asscher cut or Radiant...any opinions, or know anyone on tihis post who have bought these stones?

If you have a look at the Show Me The Ring folder, you will see lots of people have posted their completed rings. The Eye candy folder is particulary good if you have insomnia like me

You will get an idea of what these stones look like when set into a ring. You can also start your own " Show me your ........ rings'' thread ie insert radiant or asscher. You will get some people that will post again, or you will get pointed in the right direction. Also, do a search for these stones and you will get links to threads with photos too.

I am a plain ole RB girl myself, but I will be sure to post pics when I finally get the ring - it could be a while though, SO has made me order it, then it will go into the safe until he is ready to suprise me - I am going to DIE waiting!!

Ha ha, i know, i should be watching a movie with the fiance! He thinks i''m nuts right now, but i''ve found it very addictive how much you can learn about this stuff! and seeing as i''m a perfectionist, now I want the Absolute best diamond i can get for my dollars...however, i think thats enough research for one day.. thanks for the suggestions, i''ll start again 2mw..
