how much on average is the shipping cost if you decide not to keep the ring and return it? they deduct the shipping to you also right?

It depends on the vendor. The vendor will usually charge you around $50 for the shipping. On your end, depending on how you ship it back to the vendor (USPS Insured is best), you''ll probably be shelling out no more than $20, but I think it also depends upon how much insurance coverage you are getting to ship the stone back.
