Since we got a thread about pave vs. channel, why not add shared prong to the debate as well? What are your preferences?

I have a RHR with pave, I had a channel set wedding band for years, and I now have a shared prong wedding band. I like the shared prong best. As long as you have it made by someone who can fix the issues that sometimes make shared prong more difficult to wear, I think they are the prettiest by far. By "issues", I mean the fact that some shared prong are scratchy and uncomfortable, they can scratch up your ering band if the diamond girldles overhang the metal of the ring, and they can sit up too tall for some erings. But you can fix all of those and end up with a beautiful shared prong band.

Right now I love shared prong, but my tastes seem to change over time. I was a pave devotee until I recently tried on a gorgeous shared prong band.

I said it in the other topic, though: I''ve never met a band of diamonds I didn''t like.

How many different kinds of pave are there?

Now bead set Pave is my new favorite.

In college I thought channel set was so cool, but then I never owned one.

I have bead set pave on my e-ring, so I''m biased, but that''s the kind I like the best, too! I prefer it to be bead set in a channel, though. I''m complicated like that, I guess!

I like channel set best for square stones. Love channel set princess eternity bands.

For rounds, I like shared prong and pave equally - they''re very different looks, but they''re both lovely.

I don''t care much for channel set rounds or shared prong squares.

I think it depends on the look that you are going for. I think the channel set looks more modern and the shared prongs look more classic.
