I’m considering going with Adiamor to have my loose diamond set but would love to hear about your experience. It makes me a little nervous sending out but our jeweler messed our setting up 2x and our local jeweler doesn’t have dainty French prongs

Thank you!

Look I’m going for with 18k gold band

I have purchased 2 things from Adiamor, and would not hesitate to use them again. I have not sent them a stone to be set, but I have purchased a stone from them that they set for me.

1) Nov 2020 I purchased a replacement e-ring. I shopped diamonds for months until I found one I liked at a more famous online diamond retailer, and when I researched the stone found the same one (per the GIA cert) for less at Adiamor - so I bought it from them and had it set. Chose an 18kt gold french pave ring to go with the diamond - they had it out to me pretty quickly, and it was really beautifully set. I have been wearing it since then with no issues except I am beating up the 18kt gold, which was bound to happen since it is softer than 14kt. I get a lot of compliments on this ring.

2) after the e-ring, I bought a 70 pt stone and had it set in a platinum diamond pendant mounting from them - came pretty quickly again, stone is amazingly sparkly (34.5/40.8) and it is my favorite pendant now - chain was very pretty and had a nice lobster claw clasp.

I did find that the consultants were a little different then at other online diamond retailers - when I chose the e-ring stone and put it in my cart, someone called me to discuss the stone and wanted to verify it would be good before they ordered it. At the time I was a little taken aback, used to just order takers from other stores, but in hindsight, really appreciate that they care about their work so much.

Long story - but thought this might be helpful.

I love that for you!! Would you be willing to share a picture of your comfortable?
I agree, I sent a couple messages via Instagram and they responded fast sent me examples and comparisons. Just from scrolling what they offer is exactly what I’m looking for and their customer service is great. But I’m new to all this and wanted to make sure it was a good reputable place to shop from since I’ve had very bad luck .. I’m down between picking two diamonds so I’m very close!
Left is a 2.5 j color vs2 right is 2.2 I color vvs2

I would order the setting from them that you like and find a local jewler to set it for me. I would not ship a 20k diamond unless absolutely necessary.

DAVID KLASS quoted me $1750 taking 2-3 weeks

Adiamor quoted $1232 taking 2 weeks

Both places ship back insured

EDIT TO ADD
* If I get local jeweler to set with Adiamor setting $1372. are the prongs to bubbly?

I’m new to the forum so wondering how do you guys know about David klass? I checked it Instagram. He has a little bit of a following and about 50 Google reviews. I’m also looking him up on forum. So scary shipping loose diamond!

Are you looking at this profile on Instagram? Just checking. 128k followers strikes me as more than a little bit!

Oops I confused his instagram with another one I had looked up ‍♀️

Scary shipping out a loose diamond!

Look at this thread for DK's work. He's a go to for many of us.

He has made A LOT of the rings on PS. He's a PS go to.

A couple of recent ones:

Please know that settings like that which are very dainty are prone to be easily damaged. I would suggest something a bit more sturdy, unless you're dead set on that style.

I was thinking the exact same thing. One good knock and the diamond may fly off of the band.

I did send him an email yesterday yesterday still waiting for a response

I see you got a quote that was higher than Adiamor. Cheaper and faster is not always better and honestly, 3 weeks for a custom ring from DK is pretty darn fast. Is the Adiamor setting custom or one of their stock settings? DK will make a ring for you the way you want it if you give them photos and any idea about how to tweak it. And they will make sure that you are happy, and fix anything if you find an issue. If you aren't buying the stone from Adiamor, then there really isn't any reason to go with them. You are buying a pricey diamond. Why go for the cheaper option for the setting when everyone is telling you that the DK setting will be better?

Thank you! No long story short I am getting a diamond from Kay (I can’t exchange or return) I pick up loose diamond Monday and need to set but having trouble finding places that do a pretty dainty look but DK said he can!

Do many others also ship out loose diamonds to get them set?

David Klass is a trusted resource I learned about here on PriceScope about 4 years ago. I have done numerous projects with them and the pricing is very fair for the quality, level of detail and personal service. The difference in cost between the 2 settings I wonder if Adiamor is a stock setting with David Klass a custom setting to fit the stone. Did Adiamor provide a CAD or drawing to approve?

Ask David Klass to provide you with an insured label to help you feel more comfortable (he will do this and you pay his fee). I’ve sent quite a few diamonds to him. It is nerve wracking but it’s done all the time. Make sure it is insured too.
Agree with PPs, Klass will make a superior ring and you’ll be very pleased.

*Please remember to specify color-matched melee for the hidden halo.

You do get what you pay for with settings.

I have shipped my diamond. I just wouldn’t do it for a stock setting (like the one from adiamour).

I'm a newby here also. I tried to buy a stone at a place that would set it, and I couldn't find the quality of stone I was looking for there. The good folks on here recommended David Klass. I was very nervous to have a 4.2 ct diamond sent across the country directly to him and have him design a ring set---but I took a leap of faith.

David was so very patient and wonderful to work with. I love my ring and two bands to go with it--and they were very competitively priced. And David told me he would remake it at no cost. I have attached a picture--not the best at taking pictures, but this should give you an idea. He made all three rings--the ERing has birthstones of my children and my husband hidden in the shank. He sourced all the diamonds on the eternity bands, as well as the melee in the basket. IMG_8043.jpgif I didn't like it.

Gosh there’s so much to ER no I believe I would just be buying a stock setting and they would set my loose diamond

Don't ship without an insured label. That's why dk is great, you can send it to him without worrying.
