Setting suggestions for Alexandrite (?) RHR Please!

Hi,

I have an Alexandrite that was given to me by my mother that I'm finally looking to set in a RHR. It's probably a synthetic from what I've read, but it has sentimental value because it was purchased by my Grandfather when he was in the Navy in the 50's.

Anyhow, my ER is a white gold solitaire and I love the simplicity. I'm looking for probably another wg setting (though not opposed to yg) for this one and somewhat simple for everyday wear. I definitely want a petite band. For reference, it's probably about 2.5 carats (maybe 3.0) and oval shape.

So...bring on your RHR ovals in about that size, if you don't mind!

I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I want something that will last, and look nice, but I don't want to spend 1K on it...probably around $300-$400 at the most...is that possible since I'm not looking for side stones, etc.?
