Setting Purchase...Help!

So I have been in contact with Mark at ERD, he''s been great and has taken all the time in the world with me. I''m for sure purchasing the cushion he has found me. Now the problem I''m having is, that he also has this incredable setting and has made me a really great deal on both the rock and setting. And as I have said, it''s been a pleasure working with him so far and definately can''t say enough about him. Now my question is, would any of you feel fine with purchasing a custom setting you can''t physically see or feel, etc? I know ERD has a tredmendous reputation and there would be no doubt of purchasing everything from him if I lived in New York, but I dont. What''s everyone''s opinion on this, am I over thinking this to much and do it knowing the rep that ERD has or have a custom made local, as I can physically see the work and if there''s any issues, I don''t need to ship across the country to have fixed. Thanks!

I''m sneakily writting this at work so I will be quick.
I''m in Australia and have just gone through the very scary process of buying my ERing online and in another country. Using reputable dealers I think is the key when doing this. I couldn''t have been happier with the help that GOG and Jewels by Erica Grace, they have held my hand over emails and been really helpful. This is something I never thought I would do, but after looking locally, I just couldn''t get the quality I was looking for.

I am sure it will all work out!

If I could se CADs before the ring was made, and then detailed photos before it was shipped, I would be fine as long as I was getting a design that he had executed before! I don''t know if I would be comfortable going totally on a limb with a brand new design, but that is just me.

Definitely, on the conditions that

A) I know exactly what I'm looking for, or the vendor and I have the design to an exact sketch before the process begins. I don't want surprises!
B) I trust the vendor to execute my vision as truthfully as possible, and to tell me if there are going to be safety/durability/wearability issues with my choices and work with me to find alternatives.
C) If I'm not happy with the result, the vendor will work with me until I am.

It depends on where the setting was from and who it was... But Mark has such a good reputation and we can see so much of his work.... I would do it in a heartbeat!
