Setting options for Distinctive Gem modern rectangular cushion?

Good morning!

I finally pulled the trigger and put my deposit down for a 2.8ct Distinctive modern cushion cut lab diamond. I can't wait! I'm stumped about what to do about settings though lol. I tend to gravitate to cathedral solitaires but I've been admiring a bunch of 3 stone designs with side rounds, pears, step cuts etc. I also have been digging the Lauren B style hidden halo solitaires. Which are definitely more "modern" than I typically go. I've been thinking about ordering the "Toujours" wedding band from CVB as well so I'm open to a CvB design as I know he works with her shop too. I would love to see what you would all choose for a rectangular modern cushion! I like too much! The very best problem to have lol. The metal will have to be platinum as I'm allergic to gold.

Pears sound like a pretty option. You might have to search a little to find some that can hold up next to the light return you will get from a DG diamond though.

Since you said you like solitaires, here is a cushion[?] spinel set in one of the most comfortable settings I own:

That's a tough one and really depends on your personal taste. I can imagine putting it into a bezel setting for a modern look. Personally I feel a big gorgeous stone like that deserves to be a solitaire but there are many lovely three-stone options to consider too.

It's done. It's here. And I love it. Excuse the terrible pics. My phone needs upgrading but I bought a diamond instead. Lol. It's such a sparkly clear stone. Love. I got a CvB 3mm Tousjours engraved band made for when I want simple or just a wedding ring. I love the combination. I ordered a 2.8ct but it came back at a 3.02 lol.

Thank you I wanted to stay simple and avoid trends. Trends change but I have always been drawn to cushion cuts since I learned they existed. I got married at the peak of the princess cut circa 2003 lol. It wasn't an available option really then!

The Toujours. 3mm is perfect for wearing solo when I'm hands on with the kids and the diamond comes off lol. She's so pretty she needed posting lol.
