Hello,

I recently purchased a tourmaline stone and would like it set in an LOGR setting.
The stone weighs 4.22 cts and measures 11.22 x 9.55 mm .
I am not sure if I should be looking at 10X12mm settings or 9X11mm?

This is the current setting I am eyeing.

Also, I don''t want the stone to be sitting up to high. I would rather have it even with the halo.

Thank you

Thanks tourmaline lover, that is what I thought but I wanted to verify. Thanks for your help again.

I''m no expert, but I''ve heard that it is always safer to go with the larger setting, worst case you will see an air line and maybe a little metal on the basket.

What is the shape of your tourmaline? Take note that if it''s a cushion cut, the sides "bulk" out further and the measurement should be the tip to tip, not the side to side. Having a larger setting will not help either if the prongs cannot reach the corners of the stone. I made that mistake with my cushion which is very pillowy. It measures 9.6 x 9.6 and I thought a 10 x 10 mm setting would fit but the entire stone "fell" through the setting. A 9 x 9 mm setting was the perfect fit.
