Hi, I am looking for help finding the perfect setting for my e-ring. I've got a list of things that I am looking for, just haven't found the perfect setting yet.

Here's what I am looking for in a setting:
1. wedding band has to be able to sit flush, with no gap between the e-ring and wedding band. I don't want to have a curved wedding band either.
2. no tapering in at the diamond. I want the band to stay the same width the entire way around.
3. low-set stone, I don't want it set too high above my finger.
4. I'm liking the look of bead-set side diamonds in a channel. I like a smooth edge, NO milgrain.

Here are some rings I've looked at and what I'm feeling about them:

Pros: -looks like a wedding band would sit flush
-like the side diamonds (pave-set, smooth edge)
Cons: - might sit too high?

Pros: -like the basket and profile from the side
-simple, clean lines
Cons: - might sit too high?
- would a wedding band sit flush?

Pros: -wedding band sits flush
-like the side diamonds (pave-set, smooth edge (no milgrain))
-no tapering towards diamond
Cons: - might sit too high?

I'm not really in love with any of these. I've also found a couple locally that are okay, but not ideal. I will try to post pics of those as well.

Any suggestions on settings would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

Here is ring 1 from local jeweler

Pros: -wedding band sits flush
-no taper towards center stone
-like the side diamonds (bead-set, smooth edge)
-sits fairly low on finger
Cons: - dislike the basket/support bar for the center stone
- distance looks too wide from one shank of the cathedral to the other.

And, ring 2 from local jeweler

Pros: -wedding band sits flush
-like the side diamonds (bead-set, smooth edge)
-sits fairly low on finger
Cons: - tapering towards center stone
- dislike the basket/support bar for the center stone

I'm on my kindle so its difficult to do a search and post links....or rather I don't know how to post links from my kindle. Anyway I love when people come here knowing exactly what they want! It looks as though you have been doing lots of homework and shopping around. I have no doubt you will find what your looking for. A couple suggestions of places to look. I think I may have seen something similar on Ritani's site and you could also check Beverly k and Gabriel and co.

I forgot to mention that I think that milgraining is added after the ring has been cast in many cases, so if you find a setting that looks perfect except that it has milgrain edges, you could inquire with the manufacturer that it be left smooth.

I do believe that's true. James Allen WILL millgrain things for you at no extra charge, I believe, so I would image its optional in general.

Heres a Brian Gavin one

And some James Allen , but they might not sit as flush as you want them to. But it would be minimal so they might work.

I like this one but I think it might sit too high.

Thanks everyone great suggestions! I'm just not seeing anything that is speaking to me quite as much as the first ring.

I've talked with the local jeweler, and I think my best bet is to slightly modify the first ring I've posted. I am in love with the cathedral shanks being two of the prongs. They think that the basket can be set lower, as low as possible to accommodate the diamond we choose. And then I won't be bugged by the open space so much.

Any other thoughts on how this particular setting could be tweaked so that there isn't such a wide gap between the two cathedral shanks?!

BTW, see my fiancees post here for our diamond search: https://www.pricescope.com/forum/ro...we-like-one-better-then-the-other-t187836.htm

We really appreciate all your help!! You guys are such a valuable asset! It's really important for us to get the ring right this time around, and I don't know if we could do it without all the info we've gathered from pricescope!
