Setting height

Hey guys,

I’m patiently waiting the arrival of my 1.6ct round diamond and trying to organise the specs for my ring design.

Just wondering if anyone can advise what the usual medium to high setting height for a 1.6c diamond would be in exact mm? I currently have a 1ct and it’s 7.3mm high which is perfect. I’m not sure what my perfect height for a 1.6ct would be so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

here’s a pic of the style and height I would like for my own ring, I’m just not sure what it equates to in mm..

I think setting height is entirely personal

I prefer low but some prefer really high settings - which just look like accidents waiting to happen IMO!

I think it should be 7.53, or maybe 8.105?

Seriously though - using arithmatic:
7.5 / 6.4 = 1.1719 x current 7.3 = 8.55 - just tell the jeweller 8.5mm and it will have the same proportions

No I didn’t. It was too high. I went with 7.6mm high and it is perfect for me
