Hi all.

I just recently purchased a .5 ct diamond (a beautiful fancy blue created via D.NEA) and want to pick a setting that will work with this smaller diamond.

I really want to get a solitaire to put the emphasis on the unique stone. I love the classic knife edge style rings but photos are all shown with larger stones so I am not sure how it will look.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, JT,
I had a .53 diamond set in the Vatche Royal Empress setting. It was beautiful, comfortable, and showed off the diamond nicely from all angles.

Here is a link to my previous post with pictures of the ring.

I traded up to a 1 carat diamond, so I will be asking Wink to put a .50 - .60 blue topaz (my birthstone) in the Vatche setting.

Thanks SaraPJ,

That setting/ring combination looks stunning! I will definitely add it to my list. How was your experience with wink?

Glad you liked the setting. Vatche settings are very well made; the quality is top-notch.

I would highly recommend Wink. Even though I''ve only met him via e-mail and the phone, and not in person, I feel like I''ve known him forever!

He is a very kind man with many years of experience, who goes above and beyond to make his customers happy. His staff is great to work with, too.

D&T, that knife edge looks beautiful.

Apparently it''s from James Allen AND its a whole lot cheaper in platinum than the other knife edge rings I was looking at (superb cert in particular).

Is the reason the superb cert is so expensive because it can be compared directly to the (very costly) Tiffany ring?

Is there any quality difference?

Thanks

Can anyone else comment on the quality of JA settings?

I am seriously considering the four prong knife edge solitaire setting. As compared to the superb cert Tiffany replica it is much cheaper but I don''t want to skimp too much if it means the quality is poor.

sorry I don''t know the quality or have experience with either, but there have been many people who are happy with JA''s ring, maybe its the different in the amount of metal used? just a thought. maybe you can start a new thread for Platinum owners for both companies to chime in? hope you get some answers soon thought, wish I could be of further help.
