I recently got a diamond ring to go with my eternity ring..I am not completly satisfied with the fit of the two rings together...

I think I will change the setting...

The pictures below are with the setting I am considering:

the current setting is too low ???

I think I prefer the higher setting a little more. Both look pretty, though - it really depends on the look you like best! And it sounds like you prefer the higher setting, in which case you should go for it.

I like the higher setting. I had that issue of the too-low basket myself with a set I had.

I've had a low-set basket like your current setting, and it suffered damage to the basket just from the rubbing of a channel-set wedding band next to it (not diamond girdles - just metal on metal). Within about a year and a half of wear, there were grooves worn into the basket on both sides of the ring. With the exposed diamond girdles you have, I'd expect your eternity to chew up the basket on your current setting pretty quickly.

Aesthetically, I'd give a slight edge to the higher setting, but if you wanted to keep the current setting I'd recommend a small plain metal spacer (there are some very thin ones on Etsy), it will protect the basket of your current setting and give you more space to appreciate the separation between the rings.

I prefer the look of the higher setting. Having just had yours set, do you have the option to return or get credit for it and then change settings? If yes, then that's simple. If not and you have to budget for a change, then I'd suggest a spacer in the mean time, not to protect the setting as much, but to emphasize slightly the 2 different rings. Although your set is beautiful, being on a similar visual plane doesn't give as much impact to the solitiare, as the higher setting would.

Depending on how your current setting is made, the jeweler may be able to switch out the head only for one that sits higher. I'd inquire about that before going with an entirely new mount.

You'll probably need a spacer band no matter what, so try that and see if you like it better. It will help when the band is not right up against the e-ring.

Another one who prefers the higher setting. I really like it, very pretty!

Thanks all for the relply..the ring is now back with the jewler to get the diamond reset into the higher setting...!!!

Waiting again...

I think the wait will be well worth it! It really does look perfect in a higher setting. Considering a spacer as well? Lovely options on etsy, if you were thinking of something...

Yes...I will look for spacer...I will go see on etsy !
