Setting an unheated sapphire in platinum or gold

If an unheated sapphire is set in platinum or gold can it be affected during the setting procedure or when repairing a ring after?

Is heat used in the setting process?

Should you tell the jeweller or benchman it is unheated?

Here's your answer. Well, sort of. In short, I think heat is unnecessary or unused when setting a CS.
