Any suggestions about how to set a 1.7-2 carat RB? I am looking for something classic (but not boring) that will compliment the diamond, and not overwhelm it. I like the thin micropave diamond bands, also bands with smaller round diamonds but sometimes feel as though i will get tired of it in the long run..or that the sparkle from the band takes away from the center stone? Any experience with this? I used to never think I could get a plain solitaire but now i am thinking it may not be such a bad idea. My biggest problem is that I just cant make up my mind...and I am running out of time...

get a plain(ish) solitaire and if you get bored, change the wedding band. you can really chance the whole look with just the band.
it''s kinda some ''cake and eat is too''

I agree with Belle...you can easliy change the look of a solitaire with a new band (or 2)!Personally, I am a sucker for a three stone.

I vote for a plain solitaire so the focus is all on your beautiful diamond. I love this WF Classic Tiffany-Style Setting! I agree with belle and DD about switching your wedding band if you ever get tired of the plain solitaire and want more bling!

I have a 1.76 RB that I originally had set in a Jaffe five stone setting. I recently changed it into a very classic Precision set mounting with small, tapered diamonds on the sides. http://www.precisionset.com/product.php?pid=43&line_id=1 I really like the simplicity of this setting. It doesn''t seem to over power the center stone and I''m hoping to never tire of it. Of course with so many beautiful settings out there, that remains to be seen!

Would really like to get an eternity band to go with it, maybe six pointers?

Aside from the Classic Tiffany setting at WF, I really also like their Harmony setting. You can do a search on here for LynnB''s rings. She had the original setting custom made and it is gorgeous if you want subtle pave.

I love the Harmony setting as well! Here''s Lynn B''s gorgeous ring! There are just too many gorgeous settings out there! It''s really hard to decide on just one setting but it sure is a fun dilemma!
