I believe this gorgeous spinel originally came from Multicolour. It had a big window so I had the jeweler fill the hole at the bottom of the setting with polished gold. It is ridiculously sparkly! It measures 8.20 x 7.5 mm and is 2.32 carats. The setting is white gold with diamonds. To me it is a unicorn stone that fits the setting perfectly.

Wow, that’s gorgeous!! :kiss2: The color is mesmerizing. I can’t land on color. It’s a little bit pink, a little bit purple, and a little bit blue. Like the perfect periwinkle shade.

Thank you Elle! That was in a parking garage and on the street! In indoor lighting it is more pink. Thanks so much for liking how I set it too! Yay!

So pretty! The setting is perfect for this unicorn spinel with its silky, shifty colors!

Opalescent gems are just magical. How is it blue, but throwing pink flashes? How is it pink, but throwing orange flashes? Magic.

Oh, and for the record, I can't see the window at all.

:love:Ooh, and you found a good one! Mmhmm.

That is a very large and handsome unicorn!

These opalescent stones that are becoming more popular are very intriguing to me! I have never seen one in real life and I'm sure pictures only tell part of the story. I would love to hear any comments you have about how this stone looks similar or different from other non-opalescent stones you may have? Beyond the obvious that you can see in static photos of course...

I love that setting for your gem, by the way, the proportions are lovely.

This spinel looks like it's from Vietnam?

I contacted David Weinberg and he had said Tanzania. I am not sure!
