Sense-Checking - 1.4ct G/VS1 Price?

Hi all!

Long time lurker, first-time poster - I'm on the hunt for a rock to import (to Australia) for an engagement ring, and have spent the last couple of months reading (and reading, and reading), it's time to pull the trigger.

I'll be setting it as a solitaire in platinum, and am wanting to stay around the US$10K - US$11K mark (for the stone). I'm keen to keep within super ideal proportions (H&A have me awe-struck), and am after something 1.3 - 1.5 ct.

I've come across the below rock, asking price is US$11.1K - to me, this looks like a good deal, though I'd love to get a second pair of eyes across this to let me know if my assessment of value is wildly off.

Found it on a site. Video of the stone looks very good. Eye clean to my eyes.

Price wise, I think this is a good deal as the super ideal vendors i’ve searched at.

I also found it; however, the video was not working for me and the only image they have loaded is a sample image. Being a VS1 I'm not worried about it being eye clean. Besides, cert looks pretty good.

If you are willing to do an H color, you can get a super ideal H&A from WF for the same or less money. Drop to an eye clean SI+ stone and you can gain a little more carat weight, although dimensions are still more or less the same. Speaking of that, the carat weight is a little less on the stones I linked but still in your goal range. Regardless, the dimensions are more or less the same. Keep in mind it takes about 0.20mm before you can see a size difference with the naked eye.

Unless you are super sensitive to color (and then I would ask you could you really discern a G from an H, especially a super ideal vs the GIA), I'd personally go for one of these. Super ideal, AGS cert, H&A and quality vendor with one of the best upgrade policies when/if you need it in the future.

Thanks, team - I went back and forth on the above, and spent some time on WF (which has a bloody fantastic collection .. ).

I've been working with a jeweler here in Sydney who imports stones too (in the background), and I've been offered the below for US$11.8K - what are your thoughts? I'm a little nervous about the girdle and the symmetry in the H&A, but I'm not sure if I'm simply going way too deep ..
