I agree with Missy! a close friend from HS's son is a firefighter here and his putting his life on the line.. Thank you Jared! and thank you for posting this Missy.. Wishing luck and sending rain dust to everyone affected.

@missy , You are always so sweet to think of others. I have friends who have been evacuated and also one Family has lost their home. We have been on evacuation warning but no orders yet. The fires are alarmingly close. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in these frightening times.

I’m so sorry you (and your loved ones) are going through this but glad you’re ok so far and continuing safe vibes being sent your way @Luce

Thank you Missy! The fires are close and we are worrying a lot. Where to go with crazy GSD and 5 kitties? 1 of the cats doesn't get alone with the other 3 and requires his own room (closed). We don't think the wild fires can reach our home, but we afraid of mandatory evacuation order.

A couple who worked for the kennel from which our GSD came had lost almost everything. They lived in Napa Valley. They had horses, doggies (half-brother of our one including) and they took King's Dada after he retired from training, competing and siring babies. We were told that dogs are fine (I afraid to ask about horses). ;(

I am attaching the pictures of smoke seen from our bedroom window.IMG_2649 (2).JPGIMG_2690 (2).JPG

We are in the Sierra mountains and on our way home this afternoon. We have an evacuation plan in place. Hubby and I made a list and thankfully one of our rentals is available and we would take our fur babies and belongings to that home. Our tenants in Santa Cruz County evacuated and we put them up in one of our apartments in town where they will be safe. It's strange times and difficult to grasp. Our home is close to the foothills in Saratoga and if the wind shifts we could be in trouble. I am most sad for the wildlife. Breaks my heart. We have been advised through our Nextdoor forum to leave buckets of water out as the wildlife are fleeing the hills and need resting places with water. So sad :((

Praying for your home to remain safe! We have Foothill Expy between us and the actual hills, but we can't be 100% sure that our home is going to be safe. Thinking of wildlife hurts a lot :cry2:

Thank you, Missy. We're in San Mateo, right off Hwy. 280, and our hearts are breaking for our friends in Napa and in the Santa Cruz Mountains, for the beautiful redwoods, and for all the animals. :cry2:

My heart breaks for everyone affected and for all the wildlife. The poor animals.

@Queenie60 thank you for sharing that. I hope people do this and I hope the animals have a chance.

Stay safe @Luce @Musia @Queenie60 @Redwoods-hiker-girl and everyone else who is in the area of the fires. We are holding good thoughts for all of you.

All, please be careful out there. 2 of my aunts are very close to this fire, they both have been evacuated. A cousin was also evacuated.

Oh no tgis is terrifyin! please stay safe
Sending wishes for the fires to end without causing much more harm or damage

A very close friend and I have a scheduled monthly phone call. She is OK, but she missed calling. The next day she called to say it is chaotic where she lives (Capitola). There is lots of ash. Evacuation is a possibility. I am calling her today.

Someone I knew from high school days died in the last batch of fires. She was hearing impaired and didn't hear people banging on her door. The animals dying and people caught are unfathomable. Have we no better guardrails on the environment?

Checking in with you guys and hoping things are under better control. Continued well wishes being sent your way.

@AGBF I am so sorry about your former high school classmate dying in the fire. Incomprehensible tragedy. And all the animals. :(

Fires in the Santa Cruz Mountains continues to roar. The blaze is now 25% contained and did not grow at all overnight. This is better news than that of the past few days. Our skies are pretty clear and smoke free for now. I continue to pray for the wildlife and those who are loosing their homes.

@missy thank you! and bless you!

@missy thank you! and bless you!

Thank you @Big Fat Facets and stay safe and well!

So much heartache all over.:(
Continuing good thoughts for everyone. Fires, hurricanes and the overall stressful situation due to Covid 19 and other issues I’m not sure I can talk about here anymore. But know I’m keeping good thoughts for everyone.

Continuing to keep Californians and Oregonians and Washingtonians in my thoughts. May you all remain safe and free from harm. Please let these wildfires end with people keeping their lives and homes.

thank you missy! kind hearted and thoughtful of you. very grateful and appreciative of you

Air quality here in Nor Cal is awful. There's soot on my car daily and breathing it can't be good. I'm hoping that this clears real soon. So many have lost their homes and my heart goes out to them. Can't wait for this year to be over.

The photos and video footage I've seen from the 3 states is gut-wrenching. My heart goes out to all affected; how I hope the horror ends very soon.

Prayers are outgoing

Continued Prayers for All. Please stay safe everyone xo

Thinking of all in harms way or suffering from the smoke. Awful! Sending virtual dust for safety to all on the West Coast.

Air quality has been BAD today. We are in an area in WA that has bee comparatively good and are still miserable. Thinking of all those who are in much worse than we are and, especially, those threatened by the fires.

Sending good thoughts to all. What a terrible thing to be going through, and for such a long time. My heart breaks for all the people and animals caught up in this.

I think Sharon's got the right idea-- instead of dust, sending bucketloads of water in my thoughts.
