Semi mounts from China

I was told to ask here about your experiences of buy semi mounts from China.

At some time in the future, I'm planning to reset my tanzanites into white gold, as I don't wear yellow gold anymore. They're not pieces that I'd wear daily, so I'm thinking 14k w/g, possibly halo settings. I've found a Chinese seller where you can upgrade both the grade of diamonds and gold, so basically I'm wondering what your experiences are of buying the semi mounts from China?

I have received 5 nice settings from the company that goes by jewelryhoo on eBay. Communication is slow and frustrating, but everything I have received from them has been good quality.

For me, they've tended to be lightweight and flimsier. As much as I like the look of the setting, I don't wear the ones I have because they are not at all substantial and feel too easy to damage.

They used to be much heavier in metal and higher quality. I noticed that quality took a dive when gold prices went from $250/oz to over $1k/oz. The diamond quality and sizes took a nosedive too.
