Selling on Loupetroop or DiamondBistro

Hi there!

Can anyone tell me how payments are dealt with on Loupetroop and Diamondbistro for private sellers (not vendors like Jewels by Grace, etc.)? Do most private sellers have buyers pay via PayPal? Do you offer an inspection period?

I'm considering listing a pricier piece and am just trying to gather all the info I need. I'm sort of nervous about how the transaction would go.

Edit: Forgot one more Q! Is it customary to pay for shipping? Or is it more common for the buyer to pay?

I have sold and bought on diamondbistro. I have always used paypal to buy things and used it all but once to sell something. I did sell an oec with bank wire, but that was her idea. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable sending a wire and you can't really expect others to.

Having just sold my 3.02 carat round, this is what I did.

I mailed the ring to a Pricescope known appariaser in Georgia, buyer went to him to view and apparais and consult about it. Once she decided she wanted it, she wired the money to my account. Once the money was verified received into my account I contacted the appraiser that he could release the ring to her. I of course sent a bill of sale wording the process of the sale, with the ring.

In the bill of sale it was understood that if the buyer did not choose to purchase they paid for the appraiser to send my ring back to me. My sale went great.
