Hi All,

Just wanted to get some veteran thoughts on this stone

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/0.77-carat-e-color-si1-clarity-sku-726209

with this setting

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagemen...d-pave-halo-diamond-engagement-ring-item-6811

I was initially going for a 1 carat stone but the consultant advised me that this would be virtually appear the same size in a halo setting and had a lot better fire than the one I was interested in

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/1.01-carat-f-color-i1-clarity-sku-614227

The diamond the consultant recommended fits my criteria of Depth, Table and L2W but I'm just concerned that the diamond may appear to small in the setting or on my hopefully soon to be fiancés hand (ring size 6)

Would love to get your feed back on the diamond 726209 and the setting combination. I have already requested the ASET report but would appreciate any comments on this

Thanks

Sugi

What is your budget for the stone.

That one that JA recommended doesnt look too bad...just want to see if there is any other you should consider in your price range.

Post the aset when you get it.

I'm looking at around $4k-$4.5k including the setting.

I will post the ASET as soon as I get it

Thanks

I think it's pretty good. Some mush above/below the center, but that happens in a lot of ovals. The shoulders are bright, which is also nice. It's way better than your original pick!

I think it will look nice in a halo, it will definitely have some finger coverage.

This is an aprox size difference between the stones once in the halo. Not a huge difference, and this one will look SO MUCH prettier and sparklier in the halo. (so this picture would be stone+halo look)

.77 left, 1.01 right.

I would say it's a fairly typical oval aset. Decent light going through the center and somewhat leaky after that. Not a great one
but probably better than average oval light return.

Did you ask about this one...its not much bigger but it does look like it has better light return. Has some inclusions in it (SI1)
but I would think it would be eye-clean. I would ask JA to compare them and see what they say. I cant find anything bigger
that looks any better than the one JA pointed out.

This is ever so slightly longer and looks to have good/decent light return

This one also looks nice but it is a tad shorter...

Did you ask about this one? Hard to tell, but it could be nice and it's a tad longer.

I think you have to jump up to $4k to get in the 1 carats. :((

edit - never mind that first one I posted...after a second look I dont like it as well.
