Seeking help for an upcoming VC/rose cut/spinel ring

I am finding myself becoming uncertain about this project even though every time I look at the stones my heart skips a beat.

Please bear with me.... These drawings are terrible.

This is what I have so far: 2 of the spinels are in my posession, the third is on it's way from the seller. The center spinel is the largest (cut by Jerry Newman). The outer spinels are GemologyOnline finds. The 3 pear spinels will be set to look like a lotus flower, bezeled in 18k yellow gold. The lotus ring will be designed to sit flush against:

A rose cut diamond set in a VC 18k yellow gold solitaire. The design of the ring is supposed to look like a lotus flower floating on the water. I would really just appreciate any thoughts or imput and thank you in advance! Onto the pics...

I love rose cuts too! Once you have the stones it shouldn't be that hard to put together.

Won't the lotus flower be partially covered by the diamond?

Won't the lotus flower be partially covered by the diamond?

Yes, the bottom is meant to be slightly hidden.

I am still considering smaller and even rough diamonds, but really I think the ultimate dream is 2 carats of warm but clear rose cut diamond. Which seems like a unicorn to find.

I just saw this ring and while it's nothing like you are doing the double ring part made me think of this thread, so I thought I would show you. It seems the top ring is somewhat knife edge so I just thought this might help with your ring idea.

I would contact SS, JBEG, and possibly OWD(don't know if they do much with rose cuts) to see if they could source you a large rose cut.

Yes. I was really hoping jbeg in particular would get back to me since I had a great diamond buying experience with them in the past, but so far nada. It's been 2 weeks though, so I can wait longer if they have something in the works.

There is a place in San Francisco.. Can't remember the name right now. I will look through some old posts and try to figure it out.

I think it's going to be very pretty! I like the design a lot. Good luck with the diamond, I think you're right that it's going to be tough to find. Is it two separate rings?
