Seeking best micro-pave engagement ring/band jeweler in NYC

Hi,
I am seeking recommendations for a micro-pave specialist in NYC to make an engagement ring and matching wedding band. Already have the center stone (1.65 ct, F color, SI2) with the inclusion on the side that I hope to be hidden by the prong. Want a petite (yet strong) 1.5mm shank micro-pave with F color stones with max brilliance in Platinum.

Any opinions on Adiamor? Am deriving inspiration from below but uncomfortable with not seeing the ring in person:

Thanks for your help!

In NYC

Brilliantly Engaged
Leon Mege
Steven Kirsch

My preference would be Victor Canera. He's in CA but you can ship your stone.

And no one should get a 1.5mm pave shank, that is very very thin and likely to be damaged. Minimum recommended here is 1.8mm.

+1

Unless you are ok with a high possibility of lost stones and deforming and damage to ring. Not to sound judgemental. Maybe the look is your priority and you are willing to live with and deal with all the risks. That's totally ok. As long as you are aware going in.

Thanks for your suggestions and feedback. Surprised by groups negative reaction to 1.5MM shank in micro-pave. Both Adiamor and Marissa Perry have offered this with assurances in strength and beauty.

Good to know to be aware of risks going into it.

Any other NYC based jeweler recommendations appreciated.

Thanks!

Adding my agreement with those who believe 1.5 mm is too thin a shank. ;))

Eternity by Yoni (formerly did business as Eternity Diamonds) -- who is In Manhattan's Diamond District and is a PS sponsor -- is among the several my late father-in law, who was in the trade here in NYC, would recommend to neighbors and friends. I saw some of Yoni's pavé work in real life when I met with him, and have more recently seen pics and positive reviews here on PS of his custom rings & about working with him. So feel very comfortable suggesting that you also contact him.

Think his pricing may be a bit cheaper than Brilliantly Engaged for a CAD & cast ring with no diminution in quality. It's been my understanding that both Yoni and BE do not do hand-forged rings themselves, but rather, have another bench make those; my info about that, however, may be outdated -- if hand-forged matters to you (seems that it doesn't, but clarifying that, and your budget, would help us help you).

General fyi re your desire for well-cut stones that are F in color being used in the micropavé:
Odds are that the tiny stones will not have been individually graded by an independent lab; consequently, the corresponding melee will be described by a reputable jeweler as spanning more than one color grade as, e.g., Leon Megé does on his web site. I wouldn't worry about a F-G description; such teeny stones of that ilk will not come across as being "off" even if the F grade for your center stone came from GIA.
Keep in mind there is somewhat of a subjective, human element in color grading, i.e., it's not outside the realm of possibility for a stone, when submitted more than once to the same lab, including GIA, to receive a different color grade than the first time around.

Thanks Molly, much appreciated.

I'm acknowledging that hand-forged may deliver an ideal ring, but I am not set on requiring hand-forged. I am set on seeking the most beautiful/brilliant micro-pave in platinum as possible and will work down list below to find the right fit for me. I'm looking forward to their POV on 1.5mm shank ;-) I know Marissa Perry and Adiamor offer them with confidence.

Brilliantly Engaged
Leon Mege
Steven Kirsch
Eternity by Yoni
Marissa Perry
Adiamor

Thanks again,
A

Adiamor is not really in the same league as the folks being mentioned here and I have no idea who Marissa Perry is.

I've worked with Yoni and I would have him do work for me again anytime. He'll do 1/2 pointers, but I don't think he'd advise you to do a 1.5mm shank and in fact, not to put words in his mouth, but I'm guessing he'd suggest 3/4 or 1pt stones as the bare minimum for a shank.

A good jeweler wants a ring to last. A good salesman wants to sell you what you want to buy. These things may not overlap...
