Hi, As time goes on I am really learning a lot. I just want to start by saying that I was engaged 3 years ago with a beautiful BG stone - totally spoiled with this quality BUT my engagement did not work out. Now that time has passed.. I have met the right one :) After 2 years of dating, he has proposed to me in such a sweet way and said lets pick our diamond together, wonderful news because I adore diamonds, except its got me going crazy. My BF knows nothing and I know a bit. we took a break and actually stopped looking at stones. Instead I decided to work with a reputable PS preferred vendor and have them find the stone for me. But they told me to find the stones myself I liked and they would pick based on my selections. (Not what I wanted to do, but I am picky) So I found this one below, and it was priced right..low in fact.

Can you please give me your advice? (Hoping DiamondSeeker and Yssie will see this)

Here is what I would like:
Budget: Now its about $15-16k(max) for stone only (My gosh diamond prices went way up!)
Size: 2+ carats - (yes I need this! 8.2mm for the smallest)
I definitely want to see the stone before I purchase!

Can you please help me find a good stone, if this one below doesnt seem so good?

Looks like a 60/60, I am not sure about the angles with this combo
I saw this in person with a reputable PS preferred vendor, no asset image though. Looks nice and eye-clean, possible a tiny corner inclusion that can be covered. The J faced up white and I think I am 'Ok" with the color.

Color: J
Clarity: SI2 (said to be eye clean alot going on though see report below)
Cut: Excellent

Thank you!! :halo:

Yes, diamond prices are kind of distressing! I think you can do better than that stone. I just don't like large tables because it results in a small crown, so my personal limit is 58 on the table. I'll be glad to look for something for you, though!

Here are some. But you might have to have several called in to find an eyeclean one since you'll have to have SI to stay in budget. You basically can do J SI1 or I SI2.

1) http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-3306910-2.05-carat-Round-diamond-J-color-SI1-Clarity.aspx?sku=3306910&utm_source=pricescope.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=pricescope.com

and it's report:

These should give you a start. There are more if none of these work.

Just a note. I look for tables no larger than 58 and try to keep depth around 62 or less so that greater depth doesn't affect the diameter for the weight. And I like crown angles 34-35 and pavilion angles 40.6 to 41. There are other combos that work, but this is usually a fairly safe zone to look in when calling in stones. I like Excellent for cut and symmetry and prefer excellent for polish but consider very good for polish only.

Where are you located? Although I did not buy from ID Jewelry, Yekutiel pulled out two beautiful 2ct F/SI2 stones for me. Both were priced at 16k. Take a look at the diamonds ds posted for you and ask Yekutiel if he can call them in for you.

Here is the aset on the 2.00JSI2. I'll look at those you sent me DS.. You are the best! :)

Sakuracherry - Im actually working with them, funny you should mention.

You don't need to go to SI2 with J color. The prices on the ones I sent you were within your budget. I really would not do SI2 when you can get SI1.

#2 looks like it has a huge feather. Do you have the GIA report for it?

Yes, DS here is the report to #2: https://myapps.gia.edu/ReportCheckPortal/getReportData.do?&reportno=2135477323&weight=2.12
I thought the same with that nasty inclusion. But its confirmed eye-clean hmmm maybe not with my hawk eyes.

Are you asking if the stones are eyeclean from the sides? It appears to be a twining wisp on the report, but it is a pretty large one. If the stone is going in a halo, the side view doesn't matter as much as it does in a solitaire, of course.

DS: I will confirm that it is eye-clean from the side. No it wont be halo setting, so far I think I want a nice thin pave setting or temp solitaire setting. Depends on the stone cost ;)
**also: do you think any of these I posted are "good" stones..If #2 is eye clean does the aset look ok?

Sak: I know its so hard to find the "one" Its getting so stressful to choose, I appreciate all the help I can get. :(
