Hello pricescope sleuths--

I would love to leverage your shopping wisdom and recommendations! I am looking for a smallish (6.5mm or less) vibrantly colored round or oval stone to go into a yellow gold bezeled ring. I started planning the project with a ruby that I now know will not work. I love rich jewel tones and vibrant or unexpected colors -- this will be a right hand ring rewarding me after a bit of a hard stretch in my life, so i am hoping for something that is lively and will make me smile to look at. Budget for the stone is relatively low-under 800. I am fine with inclusions and wonky faceting...color is what I am going for.

Have you seen something recently that caught your eye and might fit the bill? If so, I would love it if you could share a link!

Try Adamant International -- they have a bunch of small stones (1 - 1.5-ct) that are amazingly well cut (re-cut from "native cuts") and all over the color map. I just saw a lovely 6.5mm fairly vibrant yellow sapphire on their IG this morning (IIRC). Ivan is based in Colombo but I have bought from him a few times with zero concerns/issues. Not sure how I'd return but he will send you any number of honest photos/videos. And he will point out the weaknesses along with the strengths.

In response to the setting question- I don't have a picture, but to give you an example of style, think Cheyenne Weil's raised leafy bezel but with s more personalized floral design on the sides.

I love her work, her sculpting is out of this world.
 
If you're after a vibrant and unexpected colour (which would also work quite well with yellow gold), how about something in the yellow-orange range? I'll admit I'm a bit biased right now as I recently fell for spessartites.

I was window shopping at mastercutgems and these two pebbles looked especially joyous to my eyes:
