Do diamond prices have much seasonal variance?

No, I have not noticed this visually by looking at the front page graph showing diamond prices (front page of pricescope.com), but you'd have to run the numbers, probably break it up by quarters. I don't know if PS makes that data available, but it would certainly be interesting. I'd probably look at the derivative of that graph to get a meaningful look at how it's changing in real time each season, and compare them that way.

Price Scope publishes price increases on their blog, you'll see that there were several price increases throughout last year, don't expect things to even out now... one of the cutters told me yesterday that they're seeing increases of 6-10% in some of the more popular sizes, clarity / color combinations. Now this is for uncut diamond rough, so I'd expect to see the price of polished goods increase very soon.
