Hi all --

I've found an lab grown stone on Brilliant Earth that I've COMPLETELY fallen in love with. From previous experiences, I typically have been able to find the same stone cross listed on other lab diamond vendors for a significantly cheaper price (25% cheaper!!) than Brilliant Earth, though typically just through searching for the same specs. This specific stone though, I can't seem to find ANYWHERE, but the overnight shipping timeline set for late october suggests that they don't have it in their inventory at the moment.

I've gone through and searched for the same specs on every other vendor I know of (including all listed in the MMD Sellers thread) but can't locate it anywhere. Does anyone have tips on how to search across retailers with the IGI cert number?

Few things to try, if you haven't already:

1. Search the web for the report number by putting it in quotes (both with and without the leading LG):
  • Diamond "LG123456789"
  • Diamond "123456789"
2. If nothing comes up from the web search, then the task gets a bit more involved. I will visit some various diamond search engines and adjust the filters to try and find diamonds with the same 4Cs then see if one of them are an exact match.
3. I'll search the inventories of various seller sites such as JamesAllen, IsraelDiamond, EcoDiam, and the companies that regularly list on RareCarat since all of their inventory appearing on their websites sometimes doesn't get listed on RareCarat.

4. Enlist the help of a jeweler that offers a concierge service to see if they can find it...results may be limited based on which distributors/dealers that a given jeweler works with.

Good luck on your hunt!

Ah, modern technology....
Unfortunately, there are website sellers with access to the database lists, that may or may not be able to get the actual diamonds on the list they publish.
Generally speaking- the lowest priced sites are far less likely to actually have the ability to procure the stone.
As an additonal "twist the knife" move- oft times when these sites get an inquiry, they quickly mark the stone sold- giving the consumer the impression they missed the bargain of a lifetime....when there was never a chance to get the stone at the price published....

Thank you so much! I hadn't heard of Diamond Hedge, IsraelDiamond, or EcoDiam so definitely appreciate the additional sources. Unfortunately no luck, but definitely keeping these in mind for any other future digging I want to do!

Really appreciate you taking the time to link everything and for such a detailed response!
