Hello all,
I am currently working with Mark at ERD and also doing some self-searching for my diamond. I am probably going with a platinum setting like the first one in this post: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/help-2-different-settings-w-cad-rendering-for-cushion-cut.171259/
I want a cushion at least 1.00 ct and it is the finer details that are getting me stuck. I am not able to see the diamonds in person so I am using James Allen's database as well as ERD. I am having trouble deciding what is most important in the balance between color, clarity, size, cut, etc. I do know I want the diamond to "face up" as big as possible and that in my reasearch VS grades are still "eye clean"? I think I would be willing to trade a little clarity for size as long as there aren't any ugly eye visible inclusions in bad spots.
The main issue I am having is finding a type of cushion that isn't a crushed ice look. It seems if I look at 30 different cushions, each one has a different cut and I'm not sure how each would look in person.
If you guys have any suggestions for my budget $5,000 (little bit of wiggle room) for the diamond, I'd be grateful!
Also, is this a good diamond?
