I am looking for an asscher cut for my ER and have found these stones on James Allen. I am in the UK and am struggling to find anything suitable. Most jewellers I have been to so far have been less than helpful. I would appreciate any advice anyone can give me on these guys.

Thanks in anticipation

I don't like #2 and #3. What is your budget and what do you want for it?

Thanks gypsy for your response.
I am looking for a stone for an engagement ring. I really have my heart set on an asscher but as I said previously I am finding it very difficult here in the UK. I was hoping for a second hand antique but can't find one anywhere. Budget is £6000-£7000 ($8500-$10000). Will have to factor in customs charge too.

Gypsy, I think I read your post wrong first time! I am looking for as big a stone as possible for my budget. I understand that asschers are more forgiving in terms of colour? So thought I would be OK with an H/I . Don't want to compromise on clarity though - vs1 and above.

I have spoken to a lovely lady at JA . She said advised me that the I coloured stones were possibly a little too warm. She recommended this stone

I requested ASET for this stone and this one

Maybe too warm, maybe not - this is a K https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLJ4hf-VPJU

My advice would be to not rely heavily on the advice at JA. Not that they aren't helpful, but I think you will get better advice here.

Thank you acano117 for the recommendation, I agree, Grace has some lovely pieces on there.

Jimmianne, I take your advice too. Thank you for the video, I think K maybe too warm for me.

I got the ASET images back from James Allen for the two Asscher cuts. What do you think? Any help on these would be great. Thanks in advance. image_565.jpg image_564.jpg

Which aset is which stone? That would be helpful in telling/understanding what's going on.

Edit..I don't like the H that JA recommended. Looks all blur in the center (not sharp facets). I like the F.

Both of those asets look pretty average to me. The top one has some nice red on the outside but the center is just ?

The second one just looks average to me.

Get some other opinions...but this will at least get you a bump :)

Hey there, please keep in mind that green/white (or black depending on the background) is the weakest/direct light leakage entering a diamond. You have a substantial budget that can be utilized in a much better way.

Both are underwhelming. Keep looking.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice on the ASET images. I was also unimpressed with both stones. I will as gypsy said, continue looking for my stone.

I declined both the stones. I was also really hoping to find a second hand stone in the hope I might be able to get more for my money . Anyone any recommendations of second hand/pre owned stones , preferably in the UK?
