Screened porch/photoshop help

Yeah, my hubby can barely change a lightbulb and my math skills (required for precise cuts, assuming I owned a saw) are sh*t, so that’s not an option for us.

Yes... I can't imagine doing this with mine. I am actually very handy, but he gets so frustrated and mad. At the smallest things.

He hates everything home repair. There's lots of things that we have paid to do in the past that I know I could have done, if I had assistance with someone like myself, but it's simply wasn't worth it to try to get him to do it and have him furious in three minutes for weeks.

He is a dentist. I’m a former banker. It’s not that hard; Just takes planning.

Then shouldn't he be the one holding the drill? hahaha, couldn't help myself...

I’m pretty handy too (I built the wood fence at our old house and have done tile and wallpaper), but I know my limits and this is beyond my skill set, especially since it has to be structurally sound....

I grew up in a wrap around front porch in a house that was at the time 50 years old now it's waaay older.. it always made the front of the house dark.

my husband really enjoys a screened in porch (he grew up with one) and we decided to put skylights or tube lights to ensure some sunlight came thru, we ended up moving from the NE back to Texas and here, I don't want a screened in porch because it's too hot.

your home is lovely and this will be a wonderful addition to an already beautiful home..

No it looks beautiful, not sure where you are located but my husband grew up in DC and in the spring that porch slider was always open it was beautiful..

@Rfisher THANK YOU!!
Now, tell the truth. Do you think it looks odd?

You can maybe hang a couple of faux window mirrors above the French doors?

I was thinking the same thing. You could probably have something made (or DIY) with cut to size mirror glass and adding wood trim that you paint to match your woodwork. So maybe save the trim from the transom windows if you remove them and repurpose it?

I’ve thought about skylights, but I’m worried that they are prone to leakage. :confused2:

You may both be onto something here! Great suggestion, thanks!
