I bought a platinum setting from ashford.com a few days ago. It arrived today and I noticed lots of tiny fine scratches all over it the second I opened it up. They are not deep and cannot be felt to the touch, but I don't need a magnifying glass or much light to see them either.
Is this normal? I know there is no way to keep it from scratching in normal use so I wonder if I should just forget about it... also, I don't know if it is reasonable to expect it to be flawless to the eye when it arrives... is this something a jeweler can polish off easily? Any thoughts on whether I should return it? I don't want to return it if the next one they send out will be the same thing, ya know?
