scrap platinum and gold

does anyone know how to go about selling scrap platinum and gold. I am in NYC and would like to use the money toward a diamond purchase. I am not sure how to proceed.

There are jewelers around here that buy it. You probably just need to look in the yellow pages. But don''t expect to get a lot of money unless you have a significant amount.
