Are there any Scott Kay owners who have done the annual free cleaning with SK? If you ship your SK piece (insured and through a SK dealer) to them, they will do a free annual cleaning and "check up". I was thinking of doing this in the fall, but was curious if anyone else did it already.
I got mine secont hand, so didn''t know they would do that! Not sure if it''s worth the hassle though, your jeweler should be able to do a polish and inspection for free on the spot, then send it off if there''s a problem.
I often think about doing that myself, but my jeweler does a great job of cleaning it and making sure the prongs are tight. I''ve had my Scott Kay set for three years now and it still does not show any trace of patina yet. I am anal at keeping it clean, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it being patina-free so far.
How long does it take for platinum to show signs of patina?
I would like know to know, too, if anyone sent their ring in to SK, and how it came back.
I didn''t know Scott Kay did that. My Fiance and I picked out a Scott Kay engagement ring at Ben Bridge in the begining of April (currently waiting for it to come in) and they didn''t mention anything to me about it but Ben Bridge did say we have a lifetime warranty as long as I bring the ring in every six months for a cleaning and inspection so unless there is a problem, I will stick to just Ben Bridge''s services.
Thanks everyone! I have the ESP through Jared''s on the setting (but not my new band. I could add it I suppose) and they did do a great job polishing it. I thought sending it to SK they can do their amazing polish, plus anything that needs tweaking (loose prongs or baguettes, sizing), I''d rather have SK do it than Jared''s! I was told the turn around time is 2 weeks. I don''t think the stores really advertise that SK does this, but it''s on the SK site and Jared''s told me that they would send it to SK for me once a year for the annual SK polish and check if I really wanted them to.
