Are they getting kicked out Nala?

The Aussies did similar things but the police sent them off.

Wow, ridiculous! I guess we will see what the infection rate looks like there in 14-21 days from now. Let this be a learning lesson... people just don't get the seriousness of this disease. "sigh"

I think they are betting on the theory that heat kills the virus:wall:

Stupid, selfish, fvcking @ssholes.
They are creating more virus factories! :angryfire:
One of those factories may result in my death, or the death of your mom or grandpa!

"Eat Drink and be Merry, for tomorrow we die." INDEED! :nono:

SOOOOOOOO many Americans suck.

... so true, I hope that they don't fall to the stupid theory of drinking/injecting bleach too. :roll2: No brains!

I believe there are discussions between NY, CT and NJ about closing beaches for the summer but I don't think anything is definite yet.

Many of them Ubered there

There will be a lot more sick people in that area in a few weeks time.... even if they don't get the severe end of symptoms the problem is they spread it to older and more vulnerable family members and friends.

this is too polite a place for writting down the lanugage i used when seeing that picture

@nala just keep social distancing and only go out for essentials
do your best to keep you and your family safe

especially grandmas and grandpas

there will be consequence for this, but saddly the completly innocent will die with the stupid selfish thoughtless pieces of s**t

Depends on where you live. Our beaches are never crowded. Maintaining appropriate distance should not be a problem. People need to be aware of and respect the social distancing requirements.

I’m so worried about our beach towns surviving. Closed beaches would be devastating.

I didn't watch the news last night, so I missed those pics. It was hot inland yesterday. I so wanted to go to the beach, but didn't. A nice cool walk on the beach sounded wonderful-that wouldn't have been it... I despise crowds in normal days, and these aren't normal. We haven't gone to the OC beaches in several years. The crowds and parking are insane. We usually head up to Pismo and I cannot wait to be able to do that again.
I wish the weather would just stay cold until the restrictions are lifted. It is so much easier to stay inside.

I think in the short term yes it is devastating to all the beach towns. But in the long term I believe they will recover. It might take some time but I believe they will come back stronger than ever.

I also think we keep them closed for as long as necessary so there will be a future for everyone. What is that saying going around lately?

Something like this....stay apart now so we can be together in the future. Close the beaches now so we are here to enjoy the beaches later.

The sad thing is these people might infect people who did everything they could to social distance. This isn't a case of the individual being okay with taking their own chances. They're risking a whole chain of people, each one of them. From family to total strangers. Very selfish. I could never do that, never have that attitude, and never get that "desperate".

Many seasonal small businesses that have been down the shore for generations will not recover. They aren't making tons of money each summer with backup funds. They are small family businesses. Covid19 doesn't only hurt the people it infects. It's devastating to individuals, families and entire communities, far beyond the health repercussions.
I wish there was more recognition of the sacrifices being made beyond staying home. People are losing their livelihoods, life dreams, life work, to protect others. I wish that was given more attention and appreciation. My heart is broken for one of the places I love most. I mourn with them as well as the people that have lost loved ones.

I think many recognize the sacrifices. I watch the daily press conferences for both NY and NJ and both governors talk about everyday heroes. The people staying home to save lives. Not just their own but those around them. The sacrifices are steep and will resonate for a very long time. Decades perhaps. It’s a tragic situation that goes beyond the virus. I agree. Heartbreaking :((

@nala - I'm so surprised that our Governor Newsom is allowing the beaches to be opened and so crowded. Our Santa Cruz beaches are closed and masks are required. Here in No. Cal. I can't believe these stupid people -

Another 'service' I'd never use.

I’m with you on that one. I don’t believe they hold the drivers to any real standards and I value my life thank you very much. My husband knows a part time Uber driver that drinks all day and, I kid you not, snorts coke. Freaking coke! Is that the guy I want driving me around? I think not.

I want to say that he gave local agencies control over beaches and parks. I think the idea was to allow people access to nature while still social distancing, but it doesn’t work with morons.

Let's hope that these beaches are closed down once the local agencies get wind of this abuse of the social distancing rules. The stupidity - I can't believe it.

I’m with you on this one. And I really want to believe that last weekend’s protests that were held exactly at these beaches, were about that. But I think this behavior proves that people cannot be trusted to practice social distancing if they allow non essential businesses to open. Can you imagine what the mall would look like if it reopened now?

I’ll keep this thread updated! That’s for sure. I think only one local beach opted to remain closed. One other opened but with limitations— whatever that means.
