I have been working on creating my STDs here at home today, but I am uncertain as to what location I should use.

How can I be confused by my own wedding''s location?

Well, we are using postcards for our STDs, and I am somewhat concerned about using very specific information on a medium that can be read by anyone who handles the mail.

We are getting married at Table Rock State Park, Pickens, SC. It is a very small town, with no hotels or anything, really. We are aren''t doing anything in Pickens other then the actual ceremony and reception at the park. We are opting to have guests stay in nearby Greenville, SC, to the southeast of the park. This where we will be having the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and any other events.

So, here are my options (unless you can come up with something better!)

A. Table Rock State Park, SC
B. Table Rock State Park, Pickens, SC
C. Pickens, SC
D. Greenville, SC
E. ? (the mountains of South Carolina, etc., insert your ideas here)

Thanks!

I don''t think the save the date needs to have the SPECIFIC ceremony and reception location. I think I would go with option C, although if that still makes you uncomfortable, you could use D as well.

Yeah, I agree it doesn''t have to be super specific. I think Greenville, SC would be good, unless most of your guests are already familiar with SC and know where Pickens is. Otherwise, Greenville is specific enough but also big enough that some random person wouldn''t know exactly where the wedding is.

Do you have a wedding website? You could put the specific details on there, although not sure how you feel about posting your website on the STD since anyone could go onto it and look. We put our wedding website on ours though, and we''ve had a pretty good response from our guests.

We do have a wedding website, and I do want to put it on there. Makes you start to reconsider the savings of a postcard!

FI says he doesn''t want just Pickens, SC, as he feels is sounds to "country" (well, it is out in the middle of the country!), so I guess I''ll have to eliminate that idea.

Augh!! Who knew DIYing could make you come up with so many questions?

Just put Greenville, SC. The point of the STD is to allow guests to begin to make travel and accommodations arrangements. So if they are flying/driving into Greenville and staying there, that is the natural thing to put.

We didn''t put a location on our save the dates, but if you want to put yours, I''d say C or D.

Wow, interesting thread. I just realized that my daughters STD (which was a laugh in and of itself, until she explained the acronym), is a postcard and has all information on it, even her home address. I don''t think anyone even thought of the privacy issue, not even me. And I usually critique every detail.

::::shrugs:::::

If the postman wants to show up, he better be dressed nice.
