Okay, I''ve been looking for a Princess for a while now. I came across a stone I liked, but wasn''t available. Now I have the Sarin reports for two similar stones. I know what to look for as far as depth and table (table < depth), but the what else can be told by the Sarin numbers. Any opinions or advice is greatly appreciated.

anything? anyone?

Upfront, I'll point out I know squat about princess stones. However, everyone keeps jumping up and down about how important the crown height is, and how it's really hard to find anything above 10% (which is ideal, according to someone's new standards). You've got one which is close and one which is right there on those standards. But I'm sure you knew that already

There is no quick way to turn these numbers into a reasonable prediction of how brilliant (or appealing in any other way) these stones would be in person.

The AGA charts make some use of these numbers, but the rules in place there do not promisse to predict what a diamond looks like precisely - just help avoid some obvious detractions, as the sources explains.

You may find THIS page useful to see where 'guessing by numbers" must stop. There is more where this comes from.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help valeria101 and chialea. I guess I find it slightly difficult to judge the princess over the internet. Seeing as how everyone around here says (and I agree) that you must see it to see if it "speaks to you", it's tough to find that based on the specs you get via internet vendors.
