Hi all,

The diamond dealer I''m purchasing a diamond from had a Sarin report run for me. I was surprised to find there were discrepencies on several of the measurements - especially with respect to weight & culet info. From looking at other posts on the site, it looks like it is not uncommon for some calibration differences. Could someone take a look at the info I''ve provided below and let me know whether there is cause for concern?

Secondary questions:
If anyone has the time and is willing to run a DiamCalc, I''d appreciate it.

From the GIA cert:
Round Brilliant
6.55-6.61-3.96
1.03 carat, GVS2
depth 60.2%
table 57
girdle: thin - medium, faceted
culet: None
polish: VG
symmetry: VG

From the Sarin report:

AGS 0 1.041 ct
diam: 6.57 (6.54 - 6.59) * 3.98
depth: 60.6%
crown: 34.6'' 15.2%
pavillion: 40.7'' 42.3%
table: 3.66mm 55.8%
culet: 0.5% v. small
girdle: 1.5% (1.1-2.0)%

Thanks in advance! I''ve learned lots from this site.

The difference in table size, dimensions and depth is not uncommon - the good news is the angles - especially pavilion are usually - more accurate.
Try the HCA results and you will find about + - 0.1 variation.
DiamCalc image will lokk fantastic. Check out 50 others with near identical #'s on various other threads
