I didn''t go to mass this morning due to the fact I am sick

. So I went on eBay for a little while. Well look what I found a vintage 14 kt white gold sapphire ring. Thing is it is set with a created 2.50 emerald cut sapphire, how hard would it be to fine a natural sapphire in similar specs? Any ideals?

Finding a natural sapphire with the same or close enough specs would be very difficult. Not impossible but almost.

Of course you might get very lucky.

2.5 cts! I would have said twice that from the picture.

Emerald cut is not the most common for sapphire, but this doesn''t mean there aren''t a couple one call away at any given time... whatever the statistics might be (i.e. relatively few EC cut sapphires compared to traditional cushion and oval shapes), you only need one.

Since all I have to go on is a picture, I would guess the stone is relatively dark but of reasonably nice color (= not grayish, probably almost black in low light but distinctly blue in daylight). Perhaps a nicer Australian of Chinese sapphire would be a close match to this look. It may not be too hard to find one - as far as I know, you may even have one cut on order.

and it isn''t often you see one, even a created one - YUMMY!

I did not not it was that hard to find an EC sapphire. WOW

Rewind. Delete.

I was just made aware that I have several EC blue sapphire on my website. I must have written that before having a coffee in the morning.

I once coudn''t fill an order for pink EC cut sapphire, but that is a different topic.

Are you stll looking for a big blue, Angel?

No I gave up on the ring due to the fact the ring might have been sterling silver the lady selling it was not shure about any of the facts of the ring. However I am going to an anitque fair next mounth and hope I find something good. I also like this my friend might be selling me.
