It's kind of a funny story. I am actually very ignorant about jewelry. I have been passed down and gifted most everything of value. I was given this ring for my wedding for my "something blue" and I knew it had been my great grandmother's. That is all. It was so big I pretty much thought of it as costume jewelry. The stone fell out of the setting and it sat for about 7 yrs until finally I got it reset and appraised (hoping it was real lol) and the jeweler suspected it was unheated (which I had never heard of) and off it went to get tested.
Wow, it’s an absolute beauty. Great Grandma certainly had a good eye and excellent taste.
So rare to find a large, clean and vibrant unheated sapphire and from Burma as well.
Love it and wear it with a big smile on your face.
I will post some more tomorrow after my manicure lol! It's 9.5 carats with a total of 14 diamonds (2 of those are baguettes on the side). Makes an impression on my 4 3/8 finger for sure! It's been an exciting journey of learning about sapphires for me.
