A good friend of mine is looking for a 6-8mm round blue sapphire to be set in a full rubover as the centre to a three stone ring. She wants a lively stone which is mid-royal blue once set.

I am a massive CS noob, is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Hello! We'd most likely need a few more details:

1. Budget for the stone
2. Is heat-treatment okay?
3. Do you have any pictures of the blue she likes?

Ditto..l more information please.

Heat treated is ok. She’s also not usually worried about visable inclusions in stones.
If the price was right she’d be flexible on colour, but has said she dosnt want it to look pale or black. I’ve attached a photo of the style she likes, in an ideal world I think she’d want a stronger/more saturated blue

She’s concerned that setting in a rubover will make it too dark but loves the setting

Is this a realistic wish list?

I found a Montana sapphire on Blaze's site: https://blaze-n-gems.myshopify.com/...res/products/1-7ct-montana-deep-blue-sapphire. 6.7mm, heated, $400. It might be too dark for her though. I'm sure there are others - you just have to comb through his inventory. Or email him and give him your specs. :) He's having a 25% off sale through January, I believe, which I'm sure your friend would like.

Jeff also has a few that might work (and there are others on his site - browse around):
5.7mm
$820
