I have been looking at a few loose sapphires from an online retailer.

One is a cushion shaped 2.08 carats and one is round 2.27 carats, both are untreated/unheated, ceylon sapphires. Both are listed as vivid blue color, flawless and with brilliance as excellent. The listed prices are $4784 and $4313 respectively.

The online retailed has each one laser inscribed and offers a GIA and UGL certificate for both. The UGL certificate lists the ceylon origin, however the GIA certificate lists origin "Not Requested"

Is this a major red flag that the GIA cert does not list origin and based off the info provided do these prices seem accurate?

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated, as I am a rookie in this department!

If you are particular about the origin, then by all means have the vendor send it to GIA for the information. The standard GIA memo does not contain the country of origin information; there is an added fee for this service. I do not believe GIA will rate the gemstone quality so if you need that reassurance, I’d rather spring for the full AGL report.
