Hi everyone,

please help with my indecisiveness!

I’m working on a 5 or 7 stone RHR with a sapphire in the centre. I’ve narrowed down my sapphire choices to the three here and I was wondering what you guys thought about the sapphires & the idea of 5 vs 7 stone band. I want a small but glowy blue sapphire to be the focus of the band!

Thanks!

Ooh, this is going to be gorgeous! I like the top sapphire the best. I think the total number of stones depends on how big they are. I’d go with whatever gets you full finger coverage, like this:

omg, your band was the inspiration!
I saved a picture of it awhile ago, but couldn’t remember who the owner was!! Now I know!! And you’re the first one to comment!!

What is the dimension of your ring/stones if you don’t mind me asking?

One day I’d love one with an emerald as well! Haha

I'm thinking I love it.
Talk about inspiration, miss @JPie has all the beauteous things!
Top sapphire is calling my name with it's extra bump of velvety goodness.
Honestly, you're spoiled for choices. Lucky!
They're all nice specimens.
Dooo yoooou have...more pictures?

If it's a smaller sapphire (depends on what you consider small), I'd recommend a 7-stone. About a carat size or above for the center stone sapphire, I'd go 5-stone.

Oh, about the sapphires, I'd say no to the bottom. It's too hard to tell from the one picture if the top or the middle sapphire is the best. We definitely need more pictures!

For what it's worth, the middle row diamonds are the most appealing to me. The bottom row doesn't look to have enough sparkles for the look.

Oh pretty! I think @JPie has the perfect inspiration.

I’ll try to get more photos soon, but do these help? The middle one seems sparklier but the top one looks a bit more velvety.

Do you think they’re too dark??

they’re 0.5-0.7 ct range. So they’re small ☺️

Those look like the exact same photo, only one is blown up :???:

They're a tad too dark for my personal taste, and as they are, I prefer the sparklier one. I personally would want a lighter shade if I were to go for velvety blue. It's up to you which you'd prefer.

Aaw, I’m so flattered! I think a sapphire version would be fabulous.

The ring is a 6.5 and the dimensions are:
(L x W)
Emerald 4.7 x 5.0
Largest diamonds 4.3 x 3.6
Mid-size diamonds 4.0 x 3.2
Smallest diamonds 3.1 x 2.8

I couldn't get the height of the stones due to the setting, but the ring measures 4.8mm off the finger.

The thread with more photos is here:

I vote middle all the way.

Top sapphire is pretty color but cut looks wonky.

I think the "graduated" emerald-cut (?) diamonds don't work as well.

Looks a little blurry, but here’s the latest idea of the band. The sapphire is brighter and lighter in person! I decided on the five stone band with bigger diamonds to commemorate the upcoming five year anniversary!

Wow this is going to be stunning! Gorgeous color and proportions. Did you choose sapphire for a specific meaning?

any updates about this setting, I believe it is going to be stunning and a combination

Our anniversary is in September & I've always loved blue sapphires! So it worked out :P2

yes claw prongs :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: love the meaning behind this band! It is going to be so beautiful

That is going to be so beautiful!

Can’t wait to see the finished ring!

it’s done!!

It’s really gloomy here today, but I tried to get the best shot possible to show the colour of the sapphire. I was worried that the prongs won’t look delicate enough from the rendering, but I think my jeweler did a great job with them!

I’m happy with how it turned out!
