Sacred Heart of Jesus Medallion?

My friend gave me these pictures and wants to know if this piece has any value, that was owned by a famous violin player by the name of August Wilhelmj . I guess it was given to his great grandmother, until it finally got to his mom who gave it to him 30 years ago. I will post pictures if anyone can help tell me I about the history of a medallion like this would highly appreciate it.

I doubt that anyone here would be able to tell you what this piece's provenance adds to its resale value. Your friend's best bet would be to contact a few auction houses with her inquiry.
