Ruby Suggestions

I have been tirelessly looking for a ruby stone for an engagement ring for about the last month or so now. I need a high quality, beautiful stone that I can place in a ring. I would like it to be the best stone I can get for the money.

My budget is about 4k for the stone. Please post some links to various suggestions that you are aware of on line.

You will need to give a size, one carat? Otherwise they won't be able to help. 4k is good for an unheated one carat.

I would like for the stone to be around 1 carat, unheated, non-treated. I am not locked into the location of the stone, but if it could be Burma that would be great.

Also, OP, we should warn you that there are, unfortunately, lurkers here, who wait until some of the more knowledgable members have opined on a stone shown by someone (like you are doing here), and if the opinion is positive, they jump in and purchase it. This happens not always, but seems to happen regularly enough that we warn to hide the stone's vendor if possible.

The Gemfix ruby is much too brown. I took a look at his website today and found nothing suitable for your requirements and budget. You might want to consider AJS instead. None are perfect but I think the issues are small enough to be acceptable.
