How do people do the address on the RSVP envelopes? I could print it on there, but that''s an added cost. Would labels on the envelope be tacky? I won''t have labels anywhere else on the invitation....

If it''s tacky, I''ll just print. I was just wondering...

ALSO, is using a postcard for an RSVP a bad idea instead of a traditional envelope? You could print the address on the back sde of the postcard. You would save money on postage (only 27 cents), and on that extra envelope that you will no longer need. But I don''t know if this is normal or my guests will think it is tacky.

Please help!!!

Thanks!

I think labels look pretty bad IMO. I''d get them printed if you can afford it. Or at the very least use fancy labels instead of business white ones.

This is an issue where my sensibility outweighs my taste. While I would prefer to have hand addressed pr nicely printed RSVP envelopes, it''s just not always realistic. I think clear labels with the address in a nice script would be fine. I agree with neatfreak though, don''t use the white!

I don''t think labels would look good personally. I think that handwritten or printed would look best.

Well I am going to go ahead and say for the rsvp, I used labels. I didn''t really care, I used a nice script and that was our only option printing them from home (they got lodged in the printer if we tried to print on individual envelopes).

We did, however, print directly on the outside envelopes for the invitation. I wouldn''t use labels on that just due to the association with junk mail/mass mailers.

I''m not sure how I''d feel about a postcard RSVP. It depends how much information is on your RSVP card. We used postcards for our Save the Dates because there wasn''t really any sensitive information on it, but we stuck with traditional small envelopes for the rsvps.

I don''t think that it''s tack per se. But I certainly don''t think it would look very good. I agree that the best solution would be a fancy script on a clear sticker.

Oh I would definitely do a clear sticker. And like I said, I wouldn''t do a label on the main envelope. I''m getting someone to write out the main evelope, the inner envelope, but printing on a small RSVP envelope might not work. And I don''t want to pay her to do those as well.

Thanks!

I used clear labels on my RSVP envelopes and plan on using clear labels on the outer envelope as well. I don''t think it really matters no one is going to be like OMG they used a label! My handwriting is horrendous and I am already having my FABO FSIL ADDRESS THE inner envelopes with her BEAUTFUL handwriting...so bottom line I DONT THINK IT MATTERS!

We used postcards and nobody had an issue with it, people actually liked it. We also printed everybody''s names on the rsvp card that way we would know who was responding, you could also write a number on the back of the rsvp too.

I think I''m doing the same. I''ll definitely be using clear labels for the RSVP envelopes, and maybe even for the outer envelope return addresses. Honestly, nobody will even remember (and most people won''t even notice)...
