I like em both.
Id take the bigger , less costly generic.

Honestly I dont think you can go wrong with either, pick the one that makes your heart sing :}

I really appreciate your input. They are both so nice it''s been difficult deciding. For the past several days I have alternated from the Royal to the generic and back again. My husband also seems to prefer the generic asscher (though I don''t think it''s because it''s less expensive?). They really are both very beautiful.

I am leaning towards the 1.83 again! I sent them back to Good Old Gold today. I have to make my final decision by Monday! The next decision will be the setting. I probably will go with something similar to the 1922 Cartier reproduction rings I''ve seen on this forum and other diamond websites.

Hope it is not too late to add my .02. I actually like the generic asscher more as well. Of course, I just got a generic asscher e-ring that I LOVE...so I may be biased...but I like the generics more, as a general rule. Less fussy.
