Round-cut ERing on a low budget (4K)

I have been lurking for few days and just decided to post my question in hopes that I can receive some help. My budget seems to be on the low side and I am trying to get the most bang for my buck. I have been using BN to look for diamond & setting, but by reading some of the posts on PS learned that there are other credible sites out there that release more information on diamonds (JA, WF, etc).

I was trying to get the most carat with color>G, eyeclean, ideal cut, and any other options that are necessary for the most sparkle. Please help me to find the best ring within the budget.

Every budget is a great one and I'm sure we can help you find something spectacular! First tell us what kind of setting she wants so we know how much to allot for the diamond/setting.

Thank you you are right! Well I was looking at plain 14k white gold solitaire with 6 prongs that was about $210 at BN. Wasn't going to spend too much on the setting since setting seemed to be easier to replace than diamonds financially speaking.

I think it's a great idea to go with a simple setting and put the majority of the budget into the diamond but I wouldn't go with the cheapest option bc they're not always nice looking or good quality. This one is a bit more but still inexpensive and looks nice:

Good plan sticking to a simple setting! I cannot comment on specific stones or vendors as I'm in the trade, but if you plan to upgrade in the future, do consider the vendor's upgrade policy when you make your decision.
